On August 24, 2026 we announced the Caddi agent to the world. The release went out over PR Newswire and is now live on AP News. It is aimed at the industries with the largest back offices: wealth management firms, law firms, and insurance companies.
The announcement leads with the argument behind the product. Back-office work was never left manual because it was boring. It was left manual because it is hard to specify: filing an executed contract sounds like one step, and in practice it is a decision tree with forty exceptions, most of them living only in the head of whoever has done the job longest.
“Everyone calls back-office work low-value busywork, and that framing is why it never got fixed. It is a process with fifty branches that one person carries in their head, and every tool that underestimated it broke in week three.”
Alejandro Castellano, co-founder and CEO of Caddi, in the launch release
The release walks through how the agent works. It starts with the work firms cannot see: Caddi reads the systems a firm already runs and surfaces the processes that repeat, ranked by frequency and cost, so the first automation decision is made against observed activity rather than a hunch. Then it is trained like a new hire: in Loop Studio, the person who does the job shares their screen and demonstrates the work, and whenever the agent hits ambiguity it stops and asks while the expert is in the room. And the result is no black box: Caddi's agents call AI only where the work requires judgment and run deterministic code everywhere else, every run is a replayable record, leadership sees every agent in one place, and Caddi is SOC 2 Type II compliant with connections to more than 100 business applications.
It also names who is running this in production today: a Barron's Top 10 registered investment advisor absorbing growth from 1,500 advisors toward 5,000 without expanding its transitions team; The Planning Center, an independent RIA running Caddi across seven workflows for over a year; Palace Law, which absorbed a near tripling of daily inbound mail without adding a person; and an Am Law 100 firm automating 150 conflict checks a day.
“Every process still pointed back to a human. Caddi got the systems we already have to talk to each other, and gave my team back an hour a day.”
Matt Mercer, chief operating officer of The Planning Center
