Caddi on Artificial Lawyer's AL TV: back-office automation for lawyers, walked through

Artificial Lawyer featured Caddi in this week's AL TV Product Walk Through. Our co-founder and CEO Alejandro Castellano takes the camera through the three things a firm does with Caddi: find the work worth automating, build the automation over screen share, and govern every run.

Artificial Lawyer published its AL TV Product Walk Through of Caddi on September 9, 2026. The series puts a legal tech product on camera with the person who built it and lets the product do the talking. This week that product is Caddi, which Artificial Lawyer introduces as back-office automation for lawyers, and the person is our co-founder and CEO, Alejandro Castellano. Their verdict on the approach: highly advanced and agentic.

Artificial Lawyer frames the walkthrough with our own description of the product, and it is the one we would pick:

“Caddi discovers your most repetitive back-office work and automates it across every tool you use. You train the agents over chat and screen share, and leadership governs every run.”

What the walkthrough covers

The film moves through the three parts of Caddi in the order a firm meets them. Artificial Lawyer summarises the whole sequence in six words: find what's worth automating, build it, govern it.

Loop Studio

Alejandro shows Caddi a process over screen share, the way you would show a new hire. Caddi watches the work, asks about the gaps and the exceptions as they come up, and turns the answers into a deterministic workflow that runs the same way every time. In the film the example is the kind of work every firm has and nobody counts: an executed agreement arriving by email, checked, and filed to the right matter in the document management system. Discovery

Before a firm decides what to build, Caddi looks at the work its people already repeat across email, the DMS, billing and the CRM, then identifies and ranks what is worth automating first. It answers the question most firms cannot: where do we begin? We launched it last week, and the announcement is in introducing Caddi Discovery.

Governance

The part that makes the rest deployable at a law firm. Leadership controls who can build, approve and run workflows. Every workflow has a clear owner, approvals are explicit, adoption is tracked, and every run lands in a full audit log. The thinking behind that model is in governed AI for professional services.

Why this one matters to us

Artificial Lawyer is the publication the legal technology market reads, and the AL TV channel now carries more than 230 product films. Two weeks ago they ran Alejandro's essay on why legal AI works and the return is still so hard to find. That piece made the argument that the return lives in the business of law, the non-billable work no firm measures. This film is the argument with the product on screen: here is the work, here is how it becomes an automation in an afternoon, and here is the log a compliance officer can read afterwards.

The full walkthrough is above, and it also lives on the AL TV channel alongside the rest of the series. If you would rather see it on your own firm's work, we run the same walkthrough live on a scheduled demo, and Alejandro is building a registrant's workflow from scratch at the ILTA Product Briefing on October 7.
